Glide turns spreadsheets and databases into business apps without code. It reads the structure and relationships of a Google Sheet, Excel file, or Airtable base, or connects to SQL sources, and produces mobile and desktop apps for field teams, portals, inventory, and CRMs. A beta AI Agent starts the build; Big Tables scale the store to millions of rows.

Glide is the spreadsheet-to-app tool. Point it at a Google Sheet, an Excel file, or an Airtable base and it reads the structure, the data, and the relationships, then gives you a mobile- and desktop-ready app on top: a field app for technicians, a customer portal, an inventory or work-order system, a lightweight CRM. Edits in the app sync back to the source, so the spreadsheet your team already trusts stays the system of record.

The product is now presented as GlideOS, and the AI piece is a build agent. Tell it what the app is for, or hand it a spreadsheet, and it lays down the foundation using Glide's existing components and tables; you then move into the Data, Layout, and Workflow editors to finish. The docs mark Agent as beta and limited to new teams, so treat it as a fast start rather than a guarantee.

## Highlights

- **Starts from the data you have.** Google Sheets, Excel (Office 365), Airtable, Google Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL are all supported sources, alongside Glide's own tables.
- **Big Tables for scale.** Glide Big Tables is a database hosted inside Glide for datasets far beyond a spreadsheet, pitched by the vendor as "millions more" rows without configuration.
- **Two-way sync.** Whenever data changes in Glide, it syncs directly back to the connected source, so operators can keep working in the sheet.
- **Agent-assisted build.** Glide's Agent creates the app foundation from a description or spreadsheet and can answer questions about Glide itself while you build.
- **Workflows and integrations.** Published apps can run enabled workflows, and Glide lists integrations with tools such as Slack, Notion, QuickBooks, Salesforce, and Asana on its site.
- **Mobile and desktop from one build.** Apps are designed to work on phones and desktops, which suits field teams that live on mobile and managers who live in a browser.

## In a founder's workflow

Glide shines when the process already exists in a spreadsheet and the problem is that too many people are editing it. A typical first app replaces a shared sheet used by a field team:

Start with Agent, then adjust visibility rules and layouts in the editors. Keep your data model tidy in the sheet, one table per entity with clear IDs, because Glide's relationships and the agent's output both depend on it.

> Free plans cannot publish an app, and Basic allows two published apps. Prototype freely, but budget for at least Basic before a customer or teammate needs a live link.

## Good to know

Glide is a hosted web platform. As of September 2026 its pricing page lists Free ($0, 2 team members, 10 projects, no published apps), Basic ($25/month, 100 credits, 2 published apps, 1 enabled workflow), Plus ($50/month, 250 credits, 5 published apps, 5 workflows, public app publishing), Pro ($125/month, from 5 team members with 50 credits each, unlimited published apps and workflows, premium integrations, custom agent via MCP, and org-level roles), and a custom Enterprise plan adding SSO, enterprise integrations, custom LLM provider selection, and 30-day backups. Credits meter AI and workflow usage, so heavy automation on a small plan runs out early in the month.
