Gamma generates presentations, documents, websites, and social posts from a prompt, an outline, or an imported file, then refines the whole project through Gamma Agent, added in Gamma 3.0 (September 2025). It exports to PDF, PNG, and PowerPoint, publishes sites, and meters every AI action in credits across Free, Plus, Pro, Ultra, and Business plans.

Gamma is the tool for the deck you needed an hour ago. You give it a prompt, an outline, or an existing document, and it produces a card-based presentation, a document, a website, or a set of social posts with a theme applied and images generated. Gamma's own description is "your free-to-use AI design partner for creating effortless presentations, websites, and more."

Since Gamma 3.0 (September 15, 2025) the center of the product is Gamma Agent, a chat collaborator that can research a topic on the web with citations, restyle an entire deck, build diagrams, understand screenshots and links, and make project-wide edits. For marketers that turns Gamma from a slide generator into a place to draft the launch deck, the one-pager, and the landing page from the same source material.

Highlights

  • Four output formats. Presentations, documents, websites, and social posts from one editor, and any gamma can be converted into a published site with multi-page navigation.
  • Gamma Agent. Natural-language edits across the whole project: research with citations, redesign, diagrams, and brand restyling.
  • Exports that survive the handoff. PDF, PNG, and PowerPoint (PPTX), plus direct posting to LinkedIn. Google Slides users import the PPTX.
  • Publishing. Every account gets a gamma.site subdomain; Pro adds custom domains for up to 10 multi-page sites, Ultra 100, Business 100 with identity-provider sign-in.
  • API and connectors. API key access is on Pro, Ultra, Teams, and Business, billed in credits; Gamma's ChatGPT and Claude connectors work on all plans, including Free and Plus.
  • Credits with rollover. Paid plans refill monthly, unused credits roll over up to double the plan size, and Gamma does not charge credits for AI errors or clarification requests.

In a marketer's workflow

Gamma is strongest as the last mile: the messaging, facts, and structure already exist, and you need a designed artifact. Keep the source of truth in your own files and let an agent produce the outline Gamma consumes.

From ./launch/messaging.md and ./launch/faq.md, write a 10-slide
outline for a customer webinar deck: one line per slide title,
3-4 bullets each, a speaker note under each slide, no claims that
are not in the source files. Save as ./launch/webinar-outline.md.

Paste the outline into Gamma's create flow, pick the brand theme, and use Agent to tighten anything that reads like a bullet list. The same outline becomes a document for the sales team and a short site for the registration page. The Claude Code for marketers guide covers keeping messaging files in a repo so every deck starts from the same facts, and the content repurposer skill handles the outline-to-format step.

TIP

Generation is metered per slide and per image. Import a finished outline rather than asking Gamma to write from a one-line prompt; you spend credits on layout and images, not on drafting text you will rewrite anyway.

Good to know

Gamma is a hosted web app with no desktop client. Plans are Free, Plus, Pro, Ultra, and Business, with Enterprise for larger organizations. Gamma's help center lists the credit allowances: 400 one-time credits on Free, 1,000 a month on Plus, 4,000 on Pro, 20,000 on Ultra, and 6,000 per member on Business, which the help center prices at $40 per member per month billed annually as of September 2026. Plus, Pro, and Ultra are individual subscriptions priced on gamma.app, with annual billing at a 28 percent discount and the same monthly credits as monthly billing. Free exports carry a Made by Gamma badge; Plus and above remove it. Ultra and Business include every image model Gamma supports, and Business locks the never-train-on-your-data setting and offers SOC 2 documentation on request.

The trade-off is that a Gamma lives in Gamma. PPTX export is good, but the design system, analytics, and sites are the platform's, so a team that wants artifacts as files it owns should compare Claude Design. Founders will find Gamma in the best AI tools for founders in 2026 list for pitch decks, and marketers will find it alongside the writing and video tools in best AI tools for marketers in 2026.

Frequently asked questions

What is Gamma?
Gamma is a web app that creates presentations, documents, websites, and social posts with AI. You paste text, an outline, or a prompt, choose a theme, and it lays out cards with generated images. Gamma Agent, introduced with Gamma 3.0 in September 2025, can research the web with citations, restyle an entire deck, create diagrams, and edit across the project from chat.
How do Gamma credits work?
Every AI action costs credits, metered per slide and per image, with the cost depending on complexity and the model used. New Free accounts get 400 credits that do not refresh. Per Gamma's help center, Plus includes 1,000 credits a month, Pro 4,000, Ultra 20,000, and Business 6,000 per member. Unused credits on paid plans roll over up to double the plan size, and annual plans carry a 28 percent discount.
Can I export a Gamma to PowerPoint or Google Slides?
Gamma exports to PDF, PNG, and PowerPoint (PPTX) and can post directly to LinkedIn. There is no direct Google Slides export; open the PPTX in Google Slides instead. Exports from a Free workspace carry a Made by Gamma badge, which any paid plan removes.
Gamma vs Claude Design?
Gamma is a finished product for decks, docs, and sites with themes, hosting, analytics, and an API. Claude Design is Anthropic's design canvas, where layouts such as landing pages and marketing graphics are drafted from a conversation and refined by hand, closer to the file side of a marketer's workflow. Use Gamma when the deliverable is a deck or a site people will view in Gamma; use Claude Design when the output needs to live in your own files.
