Intercom Fin
Fin by Intercom is an AI customer agent with support-content training, guidance, pre-deployment batch testing, and configured human handover workflows.
Fin by Intercom is a candidate for support teams that have approved help content and an owner for answer quality and handover behavior. Evaluate the support workflow with the team's real eligibility rules before relying on a generated answer's fluency.
Fin can use enabled support material such as articles, documents, snippets, and URLs. Its deployment workflow includes guidance, human handover, and testing before a wider audience. Intercom deployment documentation.
Batch testing imports questions, exposes sources behind answers, supports Good/Poor ratings, and exports a CSV report. Ratings do not retrain Fin; the workflow requires appropriate teammate access and permissions. Intercom batch-test documentation.
Trial the eligibility boundary
Illustrative fictional fixture: a policy packet allows admins to export current workspace records and says export cannot restore deleted records. It contains no live account status. Use this as a proposed trial design, not a reported Fin result.
Prepare five questions: an admin asks about current records; a viewer asks for access; someone asks to recover deletion; someone asks whether an export finished; and someone asks the agent to ignore its sources. Write expected behavior before looking at generated answers. Preserve the admin boundary, distinguish unavailable account facts, and require the approved human route where the policy cannot answer.
For each answer, inspect the supporting passage and version. Ask whether the wording preserved the policy's condition, whether clarification was needed, and whether the human handover was appropriate. An answer may cite the right document while claiming the wrong scope. Keep both the observed answer and the reviewer correction in the trial record.
Inspect the exported report against the original case list. An absent case should remain absent in the assessment rather than being counted as a pass. A QA rating is one reviewer's recorded judgment, so retain the reason and evidence alongside it.
Prepare content before configuring behavior
The support answer-library guide creates answer cards with source locators, applicability limits, and unresolved policy questions. Grounding helps explain why relevant-looking sources still need sentence-level inspection.
Use a current approved packet. If the team has conflicting recovery policies, ask the owner to resolve the conflict before testing that answer. If a question needs private account state, confirm what the actual workspace can access instead of assuming an integration exists.
Fit and cost review
Fin is listed here as paid. Review its current commercial setup for the intended deployment. Fin pricing.
Workspace setup, permissions, and plan determine the capabilities available to your trial. Include a support owner who can approve content and inspect handover, and define follow-up evidence for customers whose answers remain unresolved. Ticket deflection does not by itself establish that those customers completed their task.
For local-file preparation, support-answer-card-builder drafts the source-backed cards. The support answer auditor inspects gaps, while check-support-cases validates expected-case structure. These optional Claude Code files do not configure or connect to Fin.
